  • 96/97 intake swap pictures

    Hey Guys,

Does anyone know the location? I checked the article but the pictures appear to be missing.

I did the swap and now have idle surging issues. I'm hoping the pics will help.

    Thanks again.

are you using the sensors from the used intake's or did you swap the sensors from the old one over to the new TB/Plennum? any noticable vac leaks? does it surge at idle or all the time?

I'm trying to figure out where the images are. Unfortunately, our license for the gallery we were using is up, so it would be another $130 to get the version that works with the current forum version. Not something Ben or I want to pay for right now. The images are still out there, I just need to figure out a different way to organize them.

Hi. Pictures would be sweet. Is it possible to have them uploaded to another source for viewing? I know there are a few free image hosting sites out there.

I used the sensors from the intake I pulled including injectors. No CEL though. I think it may be the lower intake gasket? Maybe I need better gaskets like Fel-Pro? I can't find a vacuum leak. I sprayed every where and nothing Surges in all gears at idle. If i give it gas it stops it from stalling. There is some faint smoke out of the tail pipe and it smells rich. Any one ever done this swap and is there something I'm missing? or is one of these sensors off the 96 not compatible with the 95? I removed the 96 EVAP canister too and bypassed it.

My next step is to pull everything off again. Put in Fel-Pro gaskets, swap my injectors in and my sensors to the 96 intake and see what happens. Is the TPS the same on the 95/96?

        Any help would be great.

You didn't happen to use the FPR from the donor as well did you? Maybe it was rotten? Do you have good vacuum to the FPR?

If you ain't rock and roll, you must be driving a Honda

Actually I did use the FPR from the intake I pulled. I have a good vaccum too it. If it's not expensive I will replace that too. Thanks

how many have done the swap? Those 96 lower intake gaskets are small. Did everyone torque 20 lbs and that was enough to seal them?

Ive done the swap on mine. I used the OEM intake gaskets (Cheaper then the Felpro's), i also replaced the FPR (who knows if its good or not) and ran my injectors (don't trust JY injectors without cleaning/testing). Im running all the 1996 sensors that came on the intake manifold (except MAF and MAP, I know my MAF is good and my '96 MAP was just replaced w/ my OBDII swap). It appears the IAC is the same (comparing my '95 to the '96) but i think the parts store lists them as different numbers... its worth trying to swap (doesn't cost anything if you still have your original IAC). Everything should be a straight foward swap and start unless something isnt hooked up or is bad. I also used the swap article from the board. make sure the LIM gasket is straight if your replacing it and use the bolt holes in the LIM to get them all lined up before tightening the LIM down. Check Fuel injector O-rings (replace if you have not done so already) and make sure to put some oil on them during install so they slip in nice and easy.

                      Good luck,

                      S

Thanks. The 95 had no MAP just MAF so I plugged the hole. Also Plugged the EGR hole 2.

Does anyone have pictures of the swap completed I went through the ones sent to me and I need to see the other side of the throttle body and where the vacuum lines go. Or if some one could take more indepth pics and email them to me that would be awesome!! Also where did you hook up the Tranny Vacuum line to?

                              Maybe I should take pics?
