  • Paging Ben... Custom Performance Chip Needed

    Hi Ben, I need a performance chip for my car with the best possible gains. I notice that the engine run PIG RICH @ WOT. Here are the mods done to the engine:

    Cam Retard timing
    High flow custom headers
    2.5 mandrel bend exahust
    Race cat
    Ultraflow muffler
    No EGR
    LS1 TB
    aluminum flywheel
    UD Pulley
    160* stat

    Also I dont want rev limit (expecting shift @7300) and no speed limit(I had to let go a 350Z in high speed after a kick butt due ecm speed limit ). Its a 97 engine on 92 ecm with a 5 speed tranny. Also a higher idle rpms is needed due the stalling.

    If is there other things I should consider in the chip cfg to be changed let me know.

    Highest limiter is 7150 unless I completely remove it...then it can go to whatever. I would have to find the file though that has the limiter completely removed to copy that part since its not in the data tables.

    Im not sure how that TB will mess with the computer, nor the headers. I would need the car to really tune it properly. If its still running that rich at WOT, something sounds wrong. They run super rich stock but with headers and a larger TB im not sure how rich it still is. I can definetly raise the idle for that cam timing, and delete the egr from the code so it wont look for it. If you want to try the normal changes I make to a chip, that is fine with me but you will want to monitor your top end to make sure its not running lean.

    FFP has raised the price of the chips due to having to buy adapters instead of using memcals, but I have a few left here and they have a near perfect record in the DOHC cars. Cost for one is 120 if you wanna give it a shot.

      After installed the chip and run a scanner then give you the results for a futher uptimize you can reprogram the memcal? I want to uptimize the engine to its max. If you can do that I buy it.

      Also I upgraded the fuel system, 255lph pump, aeroquip fuel lines, high flow fuel filter.

        No thanks, I don't like doing long distance custom tuning because it turns into a hassle and the results are never the same as when I have the car. It would seriously take a year to do it that way plus the cost of shipping chips back and forth.

            I wouldn't care about trying a few chips to get it closer but it would take too long to get it "perfect". I have no idea how much gain you would see either way with those mods, especially headers. Its really hard to say. Would you be using freescan to get the log?
