No offense, but 1200can is a lot for a GTP with a blown motor. I would say it isn't possible to rebuild the 3.4 for less than 3000.

3000! Hell no, you can do it for less if you just want a basic rebuild.

I also meant having a shop build it-I simply didn't have the time.

There was no way I could have gone below 3000 even without the forged alum pistons and head deck. Also I needed all new valves and I needed a new crankshaft, and these weren't cheap.

Ok, so you couldnt do it for less than 3k. That is very much different than telling someone else they cant do it for less. Unless the crank is badly damaged, youcan have the journals redone and use oversize bearings. Decking the heads costs a whopping 50 bucks for both. Forged aluminum pistons should be 500-550. Of course, as I said for the basic rebuild, you can get pistons much cheaper than that. In fact, I wouldn't recommend forged pistons for anything short of nitrous or boost. Hypereutectic pistons are better for NA operation since you can run a tighter tolerance due to less expansion from heat. Anyway, 3000 is not what it takes for a rebuilt unless you need every single part new. May as well get a new crate engine off ebay though for that kind of work.

Yah I drove it with the spun bearing for 2 weeks, so it ruined the crank. I got the F/A pistons because I am planning on running boost after I do my heads. They will not be decked. It will be a twin-screw Magnason M90 supercharger, very similiar to that of the L67's. And the shop that built it will warrenty it for 14psi as well, and I'll only run 6-8.

              Yah I know I can't supercharge my car-but hell, I couldn't make headers either could I?

You said you were too lazy to take pictures of the back about a month ago. You keep dancing around the subject. Oh well whatever, good luck and don't melt too many heater hoses.

                            It's chronic laziness.

I havn't melted anything but a small vacuum line, but I fixed that, rerouted it. Everything else works just as it did before. But ok, I'm sure I melt heater hoses left and right. Hell I wouldn't know if I did or didn't, I only live in Colorado and use the heater on a daily basis.

the only reason i bought the car is because it was 10 min away from my house, it was the cheapest i could find one for, i only want the body (nothing else), and 1200 is the cheapest they would go , it was a junkyard so they said that they could sell it for parts and make alot more money off of it. well the reason i want it is because in case you dont remember i got into a bad accident with my GTP and bent the frame on it. well it was going to be $1000 at least for the parts i needed and another $1200 to straighten out the frame. so right there is $2200 at the least that could easily go up to $3000. well any ways im going to gut this new GTP and put in my dash , my seats , my everything! , vin numbers, im going to sandblast the whole thing and paint it blue, it doesnt have a sunroof so im going to cut out my roof and weld it into this new car. everything is getting changed over , this new car isnt going to exsist much longer. the only reason i am going through all this work is because i want my vin # and things to say it is a 5 speed car with all my options in it so if 30 years from now these cars are worth anything it will look original. yep alot of work but im looking forward to it!
