There are ton's of mods you can do!!!

I have always swapped to 96' heads with no problems...

The MMS Headers are great, I have a set, NOT worth 1000 bucks though!

I would recommend getting a set made though.

can somone verify for me that the pre-94 W-bodies the fire wall is closer to the engine then the 1994+ w-bodies (except Lumina Z34, firewall wan't changed threw '94). i wonder how the headers would fit, would they need to be tweeked?

AFAIK, all 1st gen Ws have the same firewall... the 1.5 firewall may be different though...

I've heard the later ones had the firewall farther back, but never really payed attention. I should have noticed too when I was getting my 96 heads off the car at the yard last year since I had to pull the intake off and that sits farther back then the older intake. I wouldn't doubt that the firewall is farther back the more I think about it.

Feel like getting your uncle to fabricate more than 1 set of headers?!

I would use the rest to beef up your 4t60-e if you are content on staying with an auto.

PFFFF whatever! the 4T60-E is bullet proof... (if shot with a bebe gun)

Besides the DOHC doesn't make TQ so you don't have to worry about it breaking.... My stock 4T60 is at 150K+ miles now and going strong... do trans filter and fluid service every 30K miles and add a large trans cooler (i have a B&M Supercooler) and let it ride... Just my Opinion..

Hmm, interesting. My 91 had gone through 3 4t60-e's by the time it hit 130k, and I did regular fluid/filter changes on them. The one I pulled out at 101k had a rebuilt by Hydromatic for GM sticker on it, so that was #2. The 3rd one (the first one I put in) got B&M Trick Shift and a cooler big enough for something retarded like a 14k gross vehicle weight truck, and it still blew. That's when the 5 speed went in. I don't believe the older 4t60-e's are as strong as the later ones, but who knows.

lol it seems to be hit or miss... I bought my MC with ~36,000 miles on it and now has about 150,000. for the last ~50-55,000 have been turboed and daily driven. i do drive harder then most but never do anything like neutral drop or burn outs... Also i live 5000+ ft elevation so i build far less initial tq then you guys at sea level.

Shane's lucky. I think my transmission blew around 20k miles after I went turbo. I actually shattered the input shaft when it tried to do a 1-2 shift... It had been slipping for a while, and apparently it slipped then grabbed all at once and that was it.
