what do you have done to the car now? if its stock then most people start with Air intake, Exhaust then move to suspension... it all depends on what you want to spend.. Everyone here will recommend you have all your mant. done 1st.... T-belt, tune up, trans service, fuel filter, ect...

i have just about every mod you can do without tearing into the engine... Turbo, intake manifold swap, OBDII, suspension... only thing left for me to do is turbo headers, P&P heads, custom cams.... all the expencive stuff lol... but im making 331hp to the wheels on my original 145K Mile 4T60-e w/o a problem.

Not doing stoplight to stoplight racing will help a FWD auto live longer. Also 1 wheel peels are a big no-no too.

the car is bone stock ive only had it about a month now i have the engine pulled out of the car for a rebuild im bringing the block in to put it in a hot bath and to have the main journals and cylinder walls honed and ridge reamed i have a specter cai that i made im just wondering what else is easy that i can do for cheap while the engine is out of the car that i could fine the parts fairly cheap and would be easy todo b4 putting the engine back in the car....what is needed for the 95+ intake manifold swap i hear that adds a good amount of power and can the heads and cam carrier set up be swapped also from the same engine so i can get some aftermarket headers they make for the 95 dohc 3.4L

Not very hard if you have a donor car. Mine was a matter of bolting the tranny in, moving the speed sensor wire in the main under hood harness from the passenger side to the drivers side, bypassing the P/N safety switch, replacing the firewall section (that bolts in) behind the pedals and knock the knock outs in the firewall out for the shifter cables. Oh, and grab a 5 speed chip, or order one from Ben. And for referance, the intake swap you want is 96+, the 95 intake is the exact same as 91-94- it's the 96 and 97 intake that is the larger runner intake.

Could also play around with custom cam timing.. People report VERY good gains from the 6 and 6 cam timing...

Scroll down to the bottom where it explains the different cam timings.

Your original cam carriers will bolt right down on 96 heads that will bolt right down on to your 93 block. Also the 96 intake will bolt to any of the cylinder heads, 91-97. Simple is good

IIRC if you put the 96+ heads on the ports are larger but it becomes an interference motor.... I could be wrong but i thought that is one of the things i heard about the '96-7 heads.. I would just port your heads and do the '96 intakes... also if i remember the older cams are better then the '96 cams.... can someone confirm this?

Honestly i would keep your heads, replace the seals, port them, angle valve job and a good set of springs and retianers.. If you have more$$ WOT-Store sells light weight Lifters as well.

Are you making custom headers i read?

no im not making custom headers i was goin to swap to the 96 heads so i could get a set of headers that are made for the 96+ heads cuz they have different exhaust ports

Are you looking at the MMS headers for the 96-97 dohc? Arent they like 1000 dollars? Dont even waste your money.
