I used two Magnaflow Universal Fit Mufflers, model # 11224

Here's what they look like installed:

Damn, seeing the exhaust tips on 93GTPs car makes we want to put the stockers back on! They look really nice cleaned up. If only they werent such a bottleneck! The GP tips (like those) dont fit over the outside diameter of the muffler outlet, but rather the inside diameter (at least the ones on my 91 GP, I doubt Ponti changed them in later years). And the bad part is that they narrow down a lot. Its been a while, but I'd say less than 1.5" at the beginning. They totally killed the note of my exhaust, the 'free flowing' tips I have now have allow a much deeper mellow tone but dont look as sexy.

Yeah, I don't like how the tips go on the inside of the muffler flanges, but I love the way they look cleaned up. They really match the rear bumper better than any other tip can IMO.

I glass-beaded them first, to get all the crap and whatever off them, and then I used some high temp aluminum color manifold paint. They turned out awesome.

I just use some simple green or spray nine on the outline of the tips when I clean the car now to make them stand out really well (which they do!). I don't bother cleaning the inside, it looks better dark/black on the inside, makes the outline more pronounced.

You dont have the same mufflers. Yours are XL Turbos. They are a chambered mufflers and dont look quite like that.

I cleaned the tips (stock) on the 92 once with some Mothers Aluminum and Mag cleaner/polish (what I use on my rims after running out of the same shit from Eagle) and they cleaned up really nice!!! Ben saw them after my effort, so maybe he will comment on this. I was shocked. All this time, i thought the insides of them were black and not polished aluminum....

Yeah, whatever you did to them made them look brand new and shiny.

Can anyone answer two questions for me? Why do the DOHC cars make such a loud rattle noise from the exhaust? And how do you get rid of it while keeping a
                          good exhaust note?

glasspack should clean it up alot!

My exhaust plan is to have a glasspack in place of the cat followed by 2.5 piping to another glasspack then 1 flowmaster...fuck the dual flows wit y-pipe, thats just adding more unessessary wait!

i used 3inch aluminized pipe to build my sys, at the rear "Y", i dropped to 2.5 inch, installed 2 "turbo" mufflers and the original tips (91 Z-34).
It was too loud, so i added a 12inch long, 3inch inlet/outlet glass pack, and the poppy/raspy noise is gone and the tone is a little deeper.

I just bought a '93 Lumina Eurosport that needs a muffler. I'm looking for something that is fairly quiet at idle, but that has a nice performance tone when I get on it. Any suggestions? BTW the exaust appears stock except for it looks like it has a performance catalytic convertor in it.
