while they are beefy, the only thing stopping me from using them is the pressure control solenoid and a dislike of auto trannies...

4t80-e just weighs a TON though... But if I ever build/design a mid engine turbo LS3 motor or something that needs a transverse setup.... LOL

Yeah dual plenums would be best if going with dual TB. Otherwise it's sort of silly. Just machine a 3x00 LIM down, wed on some flanges with bolt holes, and bolt up some ITB's...

Porsche trannies can take a beating.

Up for observation, an old VW Bug with a 400hp rotary engine mated to a Porsche 915 transmission (I want one ):

I don't see anything wrong with longitudinal. I would prefer that over the FWD in a mid ship approach anyways They could be Getrags. Getrag makes all sorts of transmissions for all sorts of high end car makers. BMW, Mercedes, ect, ect.

                    IIRC they are longitudal transaxles....

much tougher than any american car's lateral transaxle...

Yup, I would prefer longitudinal but would make the car a bit longer... All depends how you package it up.

depending on how much overhang there is over the rear wheels... i imagine there is more than enough room for a W to have one(if they were RWD)...

I seriously wanted to take the 92, turn the engine the right way, toss a pair of hair dryers on it and slap the rear suspension and transmission from a C5+ Vette in it to drive the right set of tires...

i've contemplated that with the MC.... using a G-body chassis since there is only a .5" difference in wheelbase...

I was going to use the W chassis, but go hog wild on custom fab and bracing. A kid from clubgp named Travis (forgot his screen name, but who cares, he lied on an ebay auction when I won a 96 LQ1 cheaper then he wanted to let it go, then listed it again with the same exact mileage and pics as the one that was "sold") had done this with his GP. His I think was a 94, but later he put a GN rear end in it, a T5 and a N*. I give him props for his build, but I don't have any respect for him. He ripped tons of people off not to long after he met up with me in Chicago while I was out there and gave him all the info he needed to do a 284 swap in his car (I had just completed the swap in the 91 that summer).

i figured G since i could almost literally swap body panels onto it and call it good... plus there is LOTS of aftermarket for G-cars, most of it being in a decent price range too...
