Your better off making a custom upper intake, or find someone who can. I saw some Fiero guys making custom intakes that looked almost like a box, and they had a 30 hp increase at the wheels if I remember correctly that was dyno proven. Oh a good luck on that RWD conversion, its my next project after I do a OBD II swap and 4T65E-HD swap in my 95 GTP. To bad it got hit by hail so now I gotta fix all the little fucking chips in the paint (which was damn near the best you will ever find on a 95 GTP with original paint). A custom intake is one of my projects for the GTP right now, but I'll be having some guy make it for me. If all goes well I will keep you in mind and when I get to my 3.4 DOHC gen 3 camaro/miata (undecided) project I'll see what I come up with in terms of a custom intake.

it is amazing what a properly designed intake will do. i used to have a calc that i made using excel, it gave runner lengths and diameters......

You still wouldn't happen to have that excel sheet would you? I got the equations down for exhaust manifold pipe lengths but never even seen one for the intake.

this was my first shot at it, i know i had a more refined version, but can't find it anywhere.

this is the excel version, it was originally ODS, so if there is any broken functionality, that would explain it.

it's been so long since i looked at a lq1 intake but port-wise a 96-97 plenum could be rotated but I cannot say about the bolt holes. If you can fab stuff, you could come up with a dual bolt pattern spacer for the plenum.

hmmm... thats a good idea, Machining it isn't a problem, finding a mill to do it on is.

Had'nt read all the post, but dont think you can use the TDC in a rwd setup. For one how would you get around the starter being in the wrong spot for the trany? Also the power steering pump will most likely be in your way if you were to try to rotate the primary intake, also the mount for the pump is part of a larger piece that has the timing belt pullies and tentionier(sp) mounted to it. It also is part of the water jacket for the water pump.

^^^ hehe, well, all things i believe i can over come.
                      To answer your questions

                      1. i can just cut my bellhousing to accomodate the starter.
                      2. My motor is a 97 so i can make an elbow for the throttlebody
                      3. i will probably be getting rid of the powersteering and if i have to keep the mount thats fine.

did some more looking at the motor today, the starter is in the correct position for my trans. the oil is dirty, and the timing belt is in tact. so far so good.

this is true, i had a 4 door one that said EUROSPORT on it & had the 3.4
