It shouldn't sound as raspy in the 2500-3500 RPM range, and just quieter in general. Mine was EXTREMELY raspy in that range untill I put a glasspack in for a resonator.

A resonator is a must on the DOHC, otherwise the rasp from 2000-3000 is really bad. I have a rwesonator, but for some reason the headers made the rasp come back.

I don't know if you did this Mitch, but when I got my new tips welded on last week, I had them notch the lip on the bottom of the bumper and weld the tips right to the mufflers. Doing this probably sounds logical, but I just wanted to make it known. Doing it makes it louder and sound much more powerful. It looks awesome too because the tips are like within an inch of the bumper and you can't see the mufflers hanging down anymore (especially with them painted black ).

                  . . .

...But they will continue to sound like crap if you have a blown muffler... What do people think of Dynomax Ultra Flo SS mufflers on the DOHC? Has anyone heard them? What I want to do is get a single in dual out Ultra Flo SS, weld it to the cat., and run 2 1/2" pipes out the back to the stock locations. Does this sound like a good idea?
