from what i'm assuming, its a ebay "short ram", meaning a horrible HAI, with not enough room between the throttle body and the MAF. that'll screw with the throttle response and power...

I don't have a MAF. And my throttle response and power are just fine.
Idles like a stock '05 Malibu. Gets 24.9 MPG on the HWY at 3500 RPM. (3.73's)
I drive it 90 minutes to and from the track and it runs just fine.
There is ALOT of dead air under a car and in the wheel wells where these CAI's things are normally placed.
So now it is ":sucking" to find air rather than getting the ambient air that is there.
Hell I'm no Rocket Scientist, but I can tell you that in MY situation, and others I have monitored, unless you have a degree in aerodynamics and airflow, you are just pretending insofar as what works and where the air is on any of our cars.
Those often broken air dams are put on there for a reason.
The fenders have plenty of airflow. If you pull the splashliner and look straight ahead you will see out the front between the headlight and the fender. Not only do you have that but you have the air that is pulled in through the opening in the bumper cover and the air that flows up under the bumper cover. Just because the filter doesnt sit out in the open doesnt mean it doesnt get airflow. There is more cool moving air in the fender than there is in the engine bay anyway.

You may in fact be wrong my friend unless you can show us something different.
There is likely "negative air" in those locations.
Our cars are designed to cheat the air for fuel mileage, and you may have huge areas of negative or at best compromised air flow in the frontal area of the car.
There is air flow for the stock air box but it is limited to that factor alone.

with our cars, you have to make them yourself, or find somebody that actually knows what they're doing. for starters, the MAF needs to be a good distance away from the throttle body or else you'll get all kinds of drivability issues... i believe the factory distance is 8", i would make it 12 just for extra headroom...

now the wires for the maf is hella short how can i make them longer ??? special wires? where an how can i buy would be nice
well the easiest way would be to chop the connector off with at least a few inches of wire and extend them with a wire soldered/heat shrunk on the end of it, then do the same for the other end...
