i think what he has been trying to ask is, can it be converted from maf to map, because he heard that map was easier to tune with alky inj. but i have always thought its easier to tune with a maf isnt it?

depends on the tuner... i can tune the shit out of VE tables, but when it comes to MAF values it takes me a little longer...
he is in a bit of a problem: has an automatic, which means he either needs a PCM that will control the tranny or wire up microswitches like 95sleepracheiva is doing, or convert to a manual trans. when there is a decision on which one of those three is made, then we can progress.

1991-1993 DOHC: MAP OBDI
1994-1995 DOHC: MAF OBDI (1.5 as it is commonly refered too)
1996-1997 DOHC: MAF & MAP (1bar) OBDII
1 BAR= -14.5 to 0 vac
2 BAR= -14.5 to +14.5 psi
3 BAR= -14.5 to +29.0 psi
all factory NA cars are going to have a 1bar map... on my turbo setup i have a 1996 engine harness and ECU.. the factory 1bar map maxes out and the ecu adjust fuel based upon MAF readings. So my map really only does anything for low rpms/idle under boost relies on the MAF for everything while in boost. Your stock ecu will not read anything beyond 0 vac from the MAP.. its not designed to read boost from the factory.Last edited by RedZMonte; 06-08-2009, 03:12 PM.Shane "RedZMonte"
