i imagine if they were sloppy enough, you could have gotten enough room for the momentum needed to snap the bolts

Rock Auto has the subframe bushings/retainers/bolts for ~$23 each.

HOWEVER, when I looked it up for my 91 they didnt list them. I believe the first year listed was 94. Is there a difference? I've been wanting to replace mine for some time now. If the 94s are the same as the early W cars it'd be about $100 to replace through rockauto. I think the original posters car is also a 91.

gmpartsdirect.com has them listed for the 91, but not in a kit form (something that woudl include the bushings, retainers, bolts) you have to buy each piece separately. Doing it this way, if you skip the retainers - since they are steel and technically you could reuse the old ones, then I think it would work out to about $60 total. With the retainers it'll be the same cost as rockauto at around $100.

I'm interested to know where you end up buying them as I will likely be following in your footsteps in the near future to replace mine.

I ordered the individual bushings all yesterday from the dealer. i can get part numbers for everything if you want, but im sure its going to be over $100 because some were over $20 each, some were $15 and some were $11. but i only use original gm parts, i never use after market junk.

Um, GMPD (gmpartsdirect.com) sells nothing but Genuine GM parts... And as for Dorman on rock auto, I really don't consider Dorman parts junk.

I know GMPD is all gm parts, but they have always been more expensive than the dealer for me, but i get huge discounts at the dealer. As for dorman , ive never used them and wouldnt risk them being no good. I never trust aftermarket stuff even if they have a reputation. Just to much bad luck on my end with aftermarket, even "good" aftermarket.

As for my new bushings, i got them all now, ill post the part numbers later for anyone that wants to know.

It wouldn't be a bad thing to add to the library. I wasn't thinking about a discount, discounts are good, besides, GMPD shipping sucks balls. BTW, your luck must suck (not trying to argue the aftermarket luck, honestly).

I ordered through gmpd.com, and yes these are genuine gm parts. Came to about $60 + ~$15 s&h. The only thing I didn't order was the steel plates since I figured there shouldn't be an issue in reusing the existing ones, they are not rusted or otherwise visibly damaged so I don't see the harm in reusing. I've had an occassional clunk/pop in my front end that I've had a heck of a time chasing down and the car is real jittery in reverse. In fact the subframe bushings are just about the only thing left that I haven't replaced.

Just an FYI to anyone else considering ordering. Rockauto has aftermarket set for 94-96 W body subframes which include the plates, bushings, bolts HOWEVER the bushings are not the same as the earlier cars. Rockauto had no listing for the earlier cars. I verified through gmpd.com by looking the bushings up for a 91 and a 94 and they do in fact have different part numbers.

                      Replaced mine today.... huge difference.

My occasional clunk is gone. It was definitely coming from the drivers side rear bushing which was basically destroyed. I didn't take pics but the rear bushings were both pretty bad, the fronts looked half decent.

It drives much more soundly now, the creaks and clunks are gone. I have new control arm bushings to install as well, mostly as a preventative thing but I didn't get to it today.

I also installed my 3x00 mini starter today which cranks the engine much better with the battery in the trunk.
