  • There is a big problem here!

Ok i got done changing the head gaskets and i did the valve seals and i cleaned up the heads really nice and polished all the valves and lapped all the valves. i spent a few days just working on the heads. well anyways here is my problem i got the car back together and i set the cam timing back for fuel mileage purposes , and i took my 1993 grand am se with a 3.3L v-6 and a 3 speed auto tranny and raced my brothers GTP after all this work i did to it. well the grand am won! not by far but it won. i was really pissed off i love GTP's and i was half tempted to let off the gas so my brother would win. what the hell happened? the GTP runs perfect but how the hell did it lose against a 93 grand am se????? WTF i am soooo pissed off.

You are sure you got that timing right? Sound's like bad timing. I've heard of that before.

no my brothers car is an automatic. and i know i got the timing right because i had the cam carriers off and i took the cam gears right off and used the hold down tools and everything. plus the car doesnt sputter or anything . i dont know what to do the GTP should have wasted the grand am.
