It is a custom tool that is basically no longer made, to the best of my knowledge. Here is a link to how to make you own hold down tools, which are required when doing timing though:
And here is a walk though on how to change the timing belt, and a small bit at the bottom on how to timing the engine using stock timing and how to timing it for the 13* timing. +6/-6 would also be similar...
Well, I purchased these tools knowing I needed the cam hold down tool. I just wasn't sure if there was something else that everyone had been referencing here. I purchased these for $40.00; not bad considering buying it from Kent-Moore was about $100.
Does anyone know what the other tools do in the picture above? I know what the cam hold down tools do. I also have been told over on mymonte.com that the above right is to remove the intermediate sprocket gear.
I'd say the puller on the top right is for pulling the cam sprockets. You don't mention year... 91-93 you have to pull the cam sprockets to release the lock rings. You asked about the 6-6 timing... Those tools you have will time it to stock settings.. To do different timing you need tools like the attached pictures and a degree wheel (there's a link to download that somewhere on the site,, possibly under "Old Articles")...
The adjustable tools were a group buy.... There was the start of another thread to make another batch,,, think that died out tho.... Do a search for DOHC Timing Tools and you should find it.... Maybe some interest would be sparked and enough people will commit to another run....
Hope this helps,,,,
Tom.........
Hit up PhantomGreen,,, I believe his tool is the same as mine,,, he was in on the Group Buy when I bought mine. THAT would be the best/easiest way to get the tool...
Here's the link to the degree wheel...
The Kent-Moore tool set is WAY MORE the $100 new, just so you know. When new, the kit in the box plus a couple more tools was a few hundred dollars....

Right, I'm sure it is. I was thinking about the cam hold down tools when writing above.
