  • TURBO mounted and was working,

I have good news and bad news about my turbo project on my 93 gtp,
the good news is that i finaly got the turbo setup ie pumlping all made up and installed on my gtp, http://www.cardomain.com/memberpage/369376/2

but due to me not thinking about how much boost i was really running and that my computer not being re turned for it i did some major damage to my rings, and now i got some much blow by oil sprays out when u rev it, but now i got a excuse to rebuild it, it was pushing a rebuilt anyways the car is pushing over 230 thousand km/h, and by the way my boost was around 10 psi, ah well live a learn i gess

not knowing the 93's at all, is that a mas-air car or does it just use a map signal?

I see a fuel management unit there. Please-o-please tell me that you did something to control spark.

Your knock sensor probably saved your ass more then you realize. Stock @ 100kpa, the ECM is set up to run around 22-24* of spark, the knock sensor can only remove 12*. I found that much over 10-12* in some areas will knock and thats with the work I did in the combustion chamber. Chances are you knocked the thing to death.

      Whats that turbo off of?

No intercooler and stock timing with 10psi boost??? That was an accident waiting to happen that did happen right there. What size turbo did you put on there?

At least now you can tear the motor down and make it better. I would suggest some lower compression and forged pistons. Then try to get an intercooler on it also. Then you should be able to push 10psi.

was that a hard fabrication for the exhaust work? and where'd you run the turbo oil return line to?

the exhaust work was a pain in the ass, it just took abit of time to get it right, like i made the down pipe buy cutting small peice up of a bend and fitting them together to get it to fit in. the oil return was ran on the front of the engine, and i barely got fit it, it comes off of the oil pan and goes between the 2 coolant lines for the oil cooler which the oil filter is on, i don;t got a pic of that, but when i pull the engine, i'll be sure to show how i ran it though,

well, before my engine/trany F#*$ off it pulled hard,it was kinda werth it but once i can get all of the kinks out it will be, just the noise of that turbo spooling up was really neat,, actually does anyone know of a good rebuild kit for the 3.4 that has dished forged piston so i could lower comperison?

could you use the lower compression pistons out of a 96 3.4?
If it\'s fun, it\'s probably illegal and if it\'s illegal I\'m probably doing it.

I thought the 96' had higher compression?

I think its the same, cause they dished the pistons...the heads raise compression when put on a block without em

in '96 the compression WAS raised
