  • Question on performance parts???

ok i need final feed back on what people suggest i should add. As for my uprgades here is what ill be doing.

Forged Pistons - Custom Grind from PDQ at a .30 over bore
    P&P - from PDQ
Valves - machine cut from PDQ
valve springs - from WOT-Tech along with the shims, and retainers haha i hope they hold up to this kinda build
    Crank Scraper - WOT-TECH
    Rods and bolts - ARP
Tranny - auto to Getrag 284 will need a stronger performing clutch rather than stage 1 from Centerforce which is pretty much good for a Ca intake and exhaust but im going internally. ANY SUGGESTTIONS or info on where i can get a stronger clutch.
Camshafts - having PDQ do a more aggressive regrind
Headers - by Overkill Engineering Motorsports
    Exhaust - from Overkill
    CA Intake - from Overkill
Downpipe - from gpchris get to ya very soon about that
    Mufflers - from Spintech
Fuel System - Might be swapping to OBD2
Ingition - already taken care of with MSD blaster packs, Taylor Spiro Pro 8mm plug wires and NKG Iridium IX plugs. EGR valve lines already removed also.
Pulley kits - know a place where i can get'em for my car?

My stopping and control system is another thing that is being covered.

Where did you hear that LS6 springs will work on a DOHC?? Totally different spring setup. Good luck having Comp do a regrind on DOHC cams, and no, there is no other application that will fit this engine. The Jet chip is a waste of money. And not sure what the compression ratio has to do with the car being street legal or not.

it was one of the older threads i duno if its still on here but its what i read, yeah just trying to talk to a tech at comp is like watching Molasses drip on a 40 below day. takes a very very long time but most of the time doesnt happen. i wa slookin on there site and saw one for a v6 and i was trying to get ahold of a tech to see if it'll fit the 3.4L. im in need of an aftermarket chip if u know a place where?? i know with jet you tell them you want more fuel at this RPM range or less fuel at that RPM range. its not just a plug and play unless u have the programmer and do it yourself.

I've heard to stay away from Jet Chips. This site sells chips (and lots of stuff!!) that are supposed to be the best for these engines. The WOT-TECH banner at the top of the site will take you to the store....
Here's a link to the chip....

            Hope this helps,,,,
            Tom...............
You don't specify a year.... 91-93 (OBD 1) are the only years that will support a chip... As far as I know OBD 1.5 (94?) has NO tuning options and OBD 2 can be tuned with a tuner. Other people on this site know MUCH more than I about tuning and what tuner supports DOHC..... Hopefully someone chimes in....

94-95 use the same setup as 91-93 do regarding chips, It's just got more sensors and a more sophisticated fuel controller. Ben can still tune 94-95 chips. In fact, I believe he got it to the point where he could do some crazy things with shift points and ferocity.
I may own a GTO now, but I'm still a 60V6er at heart.
