  • 13* retard without using any hold down tools...

can someone who has etched lines on their cams post a pic of how the 13* retard looks on all 4 cams? I want to do it but i dont have the tools necessary to do it. I retimed the engine with just lines on the cams, a breaker bar and my fingers to feel of the cams were flat or not...

i know that the standard timing has the cam flats 180* from the other opposite side cam..

    O- -O and -O O-

how would those lines look with the retard? Thanks fr the help...

well im not sure how u r trying to set the timing with the intake flats set like that but if u were to do it that way ..... being that it would probably be really hard i guess the exhast flats should be frome would be pointing just slightely more to the left then the intake and the exhast one the back would be pointing just slightly more up behing the intakes by 6.5 degrees.. i highley recomend making a set of came tools.. i tryed it without them and would not have been able to do it had i not made them.. u can make a set for under 10 bucks...... all u need is about 2 foot of 3/4 inch squair tubing and u would use one of the shorte intake bolts
