u have to use 96 intake gaskets don't u? i tried to bolt on the lower intake today and i was using the 94 intake gaskets and the intake set too high to get the bolt holes to line up on both sides.

will 96 intake gaskets fit on 94 heads or do i have to grind down the 94 gaskets to get a fit?

u have to pull the intake down with two bolts, read up in your manual. have u never had the intake off?

not the lower. wait a minute, that is what those 2 bolt holes are for in the middle of the intake, right?

        don't have a manual.

man every time i look at this thing i see something new. what is that vac port for next to where the neck attaches to the uim?

You have to use 96 intake gaskets. They will match your heads just fine, sorry I didn't mention that earlier. I initially tried to use 91 gaskets and noticed that they were way too thick. The 96+ gaskets are much thinner and they are better matched to the heads. The vacumn port that youre describing...

If you mean the one on the plenum, that is beneath the gaping hole where the intake arm bolts... that is for the PCV hookup.

thanx. i think i have all the vacuum connections accounted for now.
goddamn dude, i priced the 96 intake gasket today. they are 89.95 from advanced auto. i would hate to think what they might be from gm. the 94 was 19.95. i think i will just try to make these work instead.

I got mine at NAPA for ~$20. They even carry the 96 plenum gasket at NAPA for less than $4. Don't try to rig it with the 94 gaskets, get the right ones. The 91-95s are way too thick and not even port matched as good as the 96 ones.

yea, i called napa, they said $22 i think something is wrong with advance's pricing. so i will take the gasket back, get a refund and go to napa.

Down here at about 500 ft above sea level, his car ran like Jack Kennedy to an open bar! That thing wailed above 4k! He would have had an easy time beating the 91 at the track if we would have found an open track at the last meet.

Wow, becuz up here it hurts both our cars evenly, and I think mine pulls harder. They are VERY close though. I have ridden in his numerous times, as he has mine. I want to race him so bad, but it will be a while. With the headers I will own him bad, but if he also does headers...

It will be a good race and I look forward to hitting up the 1320 on it!

You have NEVER ridden in my car since I put the 96 manifold on, or since I tuned it, or since I put the new exhaust on. I am not going to say anything about beating your car with headers and mine without, but I can guarantee you wouldn?t have had a chance without them. I pulled on Jon?s 91 last year with Ben in the car and no second gear. Just keep running your mouth... you?ll like an even bigger moron (is that really possible?) when I do get my headers done.

BTW... where are the pics of your COMPLETED AND INSTALLED headers? we still haven't seen pics of the rear. My offer stands if you still need someone with a digicam to snap some pics. We are all dying to see your engineering skills at work.

PM me and we can meet up and I will show you them. I wouldn't call them skills, but they aren't bad. They are equal length, clear everything, and stay the same 30" as the fronts.

I have not taken pics of the rears, on the car or off. If anyone wants to see them I'll be glad to jack my car up, and you can roll under and have a look. They are kinda hard to see due to the axle, alt cooling duct, etc. But not only are they completed but I have been driving it everyday for the past month or so. Just ask your buddy with the lero or that silver GTP, they saw me at the gas station, but they didn't see the headers. Feel free to pm me and come by and take a look. And I sitll have some extra pipe if you need it.

I thought your car had the 96s on when I rode in it. Guess not.
