*ahem* What would these tools be? Please say a die grander? (I love using those things)

What are the benifits of tapering the TB?
Die grinder or Dremel. My very small hesitation when "blipping the throttle is gone, pretty much instant response now. Glad my idea has cought on and people like it.

They are a flat "boxer" style engine like the Porches, except they are missing 2 cylinders.
I know what they are and what they look like, just was curious about the header design.
I don't remember if it was a 4-1, or 4-2-1, but the welds on the flanges did look like ass. It was purdy and shiny though!

tapering mostly just gets rid of the ridge the air hits when it goes into the TB (less turbulance). I guess it could also be argued it speeds up the air velocity as the tube gets a tad smaller...

Shitty welds to not equate to bad headers

And I think you said that hinting to somehting of mine....lol

Mine aren't all shiny, the "silver" ceramic is actually grey, he calls it silver so it "sounds better." From what I hear though, most "silver" ceramics are grey until they have a lot of miles on them.

Actually I thought your welds looked pretty good. The WRX header looked more like it had been chromed though. Not that it would stay that pretty color after getting used, lol.

My friend got chrome headers for his Datsun 280ZX, 2 weeks they're about as dull as my front cam cover.

Say you were looking at the TB from the top:

Like this? (excuse the craaaaappppy ASCII art)
              ___
              ..../
              ../

Too bad the spacing wasn't kept in Aarons rendering. Both have the idea though. Here is a pic of my actual TB, the first one done...

Notice no nice thick wall around the outside to disturb airflow, and nice smooth bore, no longer bumpy. Yes it could have been cleaned up more, but c'mon. Give me a break, I was using a Dremel and wanted my stupid car back on the road, lol. I think it took me a couple hours a grinding stone, and a sandpaper flap wheel to polish the inside up. Of course it doesn't look anything close to being that nice and clean now, lol, but that's to be expected.
