Sorry. I was curious becuz I know they are 4 cylinders and had 2 cyl on each side, but wasn't sure how the headers worket. Do they all 4 come together then collect into a single? Or is it a 4-2-1 setup? Or is it a true dual?

Sorry I forgot about the turbo....

Of course it can't be true dual....

Ok, so Magnaflow it is. Upon continued inspection of their promotional material, they seem 100% better then Borla,....
So, does anyone have any troubleshooting tips on the replacement computer chip that I should pay attention to?

Thanks for the input so far guys! Keep it up - this will probably be a good research topic for new members, too, so add anything you think is pertinent. For instance, does anyone have any other 'cheap' mods, like the accumulator springs?

Air intakes help the 3.4 tremendously.

They are a flat "boxer" style engine like the Porches, except they are missing 2 cylinders.

I have heard that a 160 stat will accelerate cylinder wall wear, and that 180 would be the lowest that should go. I thought that a 160 would also make the engine run rich, even more rich then it already runs at.

actually, the diesel eng is very efficient and adds less polutants to the atmosphere than gas engines, thats why most states do not test diesel powered vehicles.
Fuck that! It's just a different kind of pollution. Think about it, it's less refined, so it has to burn less clean. I believe it's actually a particulate pollution, kind of like burning coal. You know, causes lung cancer, settles on your car reuins the paint, etc.

You can always taper your TB for free... if you have the tools.

I know what they are and what they look like, just was curious about the header design.

*ahem* What would these tools be? Please say a die grander? (I love using those things)

What are the benifits of tapering the TB?

Yes, a die grinder is the tool you would need... plus a bit.

It helps smooth out the airflow into the plenum. It basically just makes the transition nicer. Here are two pics of mine:

Hope that explains it better since I'm at a loss for words right now.

Ir removes the flat wall inthe path of incoming air. Less turbulence helps, though I don't know what power gains there could be. Diegrinder is better than dremel for it.

Sounds like fun, I wish I had an extra TB / plenum to mess around with...

diesels are more economical, but if they are more efficient than why am I always choking on black soot when I'm behind one? Brand new ones are way better, but older diesels smoke more than the Marlboro Man.
If it\'s fun, it\'s probably illegal and if it\'s illegal I\'m probably doing it.
