Ben, weren't you telling me how you fucked up on the measurements and that your "13" is actually closer to 10?

Hmmm, ill have to measure it again with that block on the stand. I actually forgot all about that.

how about this i went out to look at doing the timing and the way it was timed up to start with was that the exhast cam is advanced about 3 degrees from the intake cam.... shouldent both to the cam flats be facing up together... that is the way i under stood it>>>

Ok, I measured AND took pics so this wont confuse anyone. I told a few people a while back the mark I was using wasn't really 13, it was 10. I thought it was 13 but it wasn't. That ridge on the timing chain cover is wider than 1 degree, and we were trying to measure with the engine in the car. I have a cover and the part with the mark on it off the car.

ok and the 10 degree mark is the one that is most beneficial to us without creating knock and stuff right

Nah, going past the real 13 mark is where it gets bad. I thought the real 13 was a bit further. What I had tried was closer to 18. 10 is good for sure, cause that is what I did all the testing with. 13 is something ill try when the car is running again so I know for sure. I think it may be at that anyway since I wanted to go a hair more than I used to. Seems ok if thats the case.

so at the stock mark the back cams should be up and the front down... or is it the other way around

So it was basically dependant upon what side of the line you referenced... No biggie, I'm just here to debunk all the myths.
