Hey like i said before im new to the whole after market performace upgrades unless its bolt on. i dont have that much experience so im looking for guidance i guess.im looking for a cam superchip and a gear ratio and possibly a standard transmission swap.does anyone know what i should get for the most hp. and on the gear ratio i thought about going ahead and doing a 4.11 but i decided it would be stupid for an everyday/ recreational car.thanks for your comments.

Need to know what vehicle and engine you are referring to in order to provide a response.-Brad-

If its a W-body, for a gear ratio, you don't wanta go too low.
What car do you have???
A Getrag 5spd is 3.67's and it makes these cars fun. If its a automatic just get a higher stall torque regardless of who you get it from it will really make it more agressive when you walk on it from a light and still have the rest of the gearing/shift ratio is the same.1991 Grand Prix STE

im running a 1993 lumina z34 i think its an f body but im not 100% sure.off topic but i was thinking about having my uncle custom fab my engine space and drop a 351 cleveland supercharged then convert it to rwd and gear it to 4.11 with a 5spd. i could get all the fab for free but i would have to supply the engine tranny and rear axel/driveshaft.figured i wouldnt have anough money. but would be beasty as hell. but also i looked at turbos for my lumina and i cant find anything.

if it is a 3.4 dohc, you need 4 cams. There is not much aftermarket for the engine. It has good potential but there was never enough $$$ in the market to get aftermarket going.
There are a few companies here and there that custom fab stuff. Steve Long Racing Cams is on the only person i know of that does regrinds.
there were some cars with 5spds in them so all you would need to do is find one witha computer and harness and everything is a bolt-on swap.
my recommendation for max hp/performance would be cam regrinds, short runner intake, tuned chip, 5 spd tranny and a turbo setup.
there are a few peeps that do chips. ben on here has the most experience in tuning, there are a few others that may be cheaper however.
p.s. you'd have to pay someone to modify your existing intake. The Official Rotating Mass Nazi

Doing a 5 speed swap doesn't require the 5 speed computer. The auto Z34's got the same ECM as the 5 speeds, but the code in the chip was different. Also, it is pretty easy to modify an auto under hood harness to work on a 5 speed.-60v6's 2nd Jon M.

Although not with a Ford engine, the RWD V8 Lumina Z34 is currently in the works...

im runing 3.73's on a daily bassis and it is great! plenty of getup-and-go! and actually my mpg in city went up! the only reason i can figure is that i can run in 4th gear at city speeds vs having to be in 3rd...
id strongly recomend a gear swap. except for highway mpg i dont see a down fall to doing it. its better for the trany then a tq converter anyway.
