6/6 is better for most people. 13 degree is probably autocross type specs. I can't pull to 7k with 6/6 like I could with the 13 degree though. I don't need a dyno to know that. Its called a w body, and with more weight, its easier to tell powerband and power differences.

Besides, in race situations, you run your revs higher, correct? Well, before power dropped off early with stock timing. 13* ran almost all the way out to red line in my car, putting me back in the sweet spot when shifting in my pig of a car. No, I haven't dynoed it, but I don't need to to know that it worked out better for my car. Just because it doesn't work as well in your car means every other DOHC on the planet would fall into the same situation and not feel better.-60v6's 2nd Jon M.

UPDATE: THE CAMS ARE DONE ALREADY!!!!
lift specs are tame for good reason same as the other guys that done the cams be4 me with steve long.
lift I:396 E:411
duration however is not so tame and tuning will be a nightmare but it will make the motor a DEFINATE screamer
duration I:272 E:280
they are set to promote more exhaust flow in case i decide to ever bolt on a big ole hair dryer
i may have to increase the rev limiter a tad
valve lash I:0-E:0
Open I:26 E:70
Closed I:66 E:30
those are my specs, no mumbo jumbo, no secret society, no bullshit.
it will be a while before i can test them but Steve Long Racing cams is who done them and they can do more. The Official Rotating Mass Nazi

apex,
lift is the same
i believe yours were 220 and 228 @.50
i cannot remember the calculations for @.50 but wouldn't mine be 222/230?
not alot of differnce i see.
series 8217, i'll have to find that out but i will not hesitate to keep you guys informed once i do know. I do not have the cam card, basically i called diane at CHRFAB and asked her to tell me what was on the card and i wrote it down.
please be patient though. i still have to get the carriers polished and after i get the cams back i may have a few tests lined up. I bought acidburn's lumi with a 5spd. i have a bone stock 94 engine for it. i'll bolt them on there 1st, break them in and have some pulls made. After that i will bolt them on my prix with quite a bit of porting all around and go for round 2. that is my currect plan.Last edited by dohcfiend; 04-02-2008, 12:22 AM.The Official Rotating Mass Nazi

You know... all I have to say to that is give credit where it is deserved. He had those specs already and re-grinded them for you (which is fine) because of over a month's worth of conversing about cam specs between Dave Gunsul and Steve Long. And... you guys really need to drop the whole we didnt share specs B/S. We did, just not right away because we wanted to make sure they weren't one step forward and two steps back. Not trying to argue or start a fight...3.4 DOHC- 95 engine, custom intake manifold, custom cams, ported exhaust manifolds, Turbonetics T-62, Haltech standalone, 13.5 psi, air/h20 intercooler... yadda yadda...
1987 Fiero, ST lowering springs, KYB's, Clutchnet dual diaphragm 6-puck, custom paint, 18's with falken fk452 225 front Nitto NT05 245 rear. Should be around 450whp...

Special Thanks to fierodaman and cannonball for making my cam grind easier.
I am a little upset that Steve decided to be lazy and didn't try to change up the specs any especially with the lift. I hope they will work with the 96-97 heads, of course it may be alan's fault.
He is a shady bastard and I highly recommend that no one ever call CHRFAB for anything. I am going to give steve a call soon to confirm everything will work. The Official Rotating Mass Nazi
