  • Re-ring kit

    Greetings,

    I'm trying to find a re-ring kit for a 1991 LQ1. I found out that autozone had a set to a great price how ever they do not ship outside the U.S. Do you know of any other places who has a re-ring kit for my engine?

        have you tried ebay? i see alot of sets on there. i dont know where you could go in Sweden, you would have to go to an auto parts supplier, or an engine rebuiling shop if you have any.

          I've tried ebay no re-ring kits for this engine. This engine is pretty much non existant in Sweden. I doubt our local dealers got parts for it. How ever there must be some site that got a kit that ship outside the U.S.

            im looking right now, but alot of them you have to buy new pistions too, which is not a bad idea, because pistons crack too, so if you have it apart , might as well change them. Out of curiosity, why do you want to change the rings? do you know how big of a job it is in this motor?

              I've got the engine teared down to the block. Engine had bad knocking and bearings were all over the oil-tray. how ever the block is fine and I got a new crankshaft to put in. The pistons are fine too. about 35000 miles on the car and engine, got it cheap and it's got a getrag 284.

                  Thank you. I might have to buy each item separate then even though there are re-ring kits which contain rings, gaskets and bearings to a nice price. I'll keep looking.

                    If you get in contact with Total Seal I know they have great ring sets and resonable prices. I got a set from them (i think it was for a toyota something) that had the exact same dimentions as the LQ1.

                      How the car end up in Sweden?

                      96 Z34 3.4 SC DOHC Getrag, 284 5sd manual transmission, stage 3spec clutch, 97 engine, 97 pcm, S3 intercooler 1 of 1 Roots SC LQ1 in the world 8.5 psi.
