    When I drive my car and it is cold it feels like it is way faster than when it is up to normal temperature, would a 160 thermostat solve this problem?

    there could be many reason why your car runs better when its cold. mostlikely i would think it is due to the entire engine being cool. IE:
    -Intake manifold
    -TB
    -airfilter box or CAI

    all of these being cooler will alow a denser intake charge. also before things become heat soaked, your IAT intake air temp sensor will be much cooler then it will when you are up to temp. when the sensor hits 104* it will begin pulling spark timing....reducing power. also depending on the ECT engine coolent temp, the AF air fuel ratio is diff. generally the cooler the ECT the richer the AF.

    there are many variables. only way to be sure is to scan the car with a data logger and watch the sensors.

    what year and model car do you have?

    personally i installed a 160* tstat for the summer and about to remove it in the next week as even down here in fl its too cool to need such a low Tstat. im going back to my 180* the other night my ECT was at 166* after a long drive! i dont feel comfortable with it below 175* so between 175-190 is my target to keep the ECT at. this also keeps me in a good temp range for adjusting AF and other settings in my PCM

      180 is as low as i'd go..

      your car is in open loop, it's running based on the tables in the chip and not using feeback from the o2. After a few minutes it goes into Closed loop and starts to adjust the fueling based on engine load and the readings from the 02 sensor.

      if (when it's warm) it's running drastically different then you need to look at installing a new o2 and checking your other sensors.

        Run the car hot and tune from there. It will always make the best power when warmed up. 200 to 210*F should be your operating temp.

        You may feel a bit slower when fully warmed up but it is not the engines fault. It is due to emissions friendly computer tuning. When in open loop the ECM runs of pre programmed tables. These tables are on the rich side so it makes for snappy response that may make the car feel a little quicker. If you tuned the closed loop operations you would make a lot more power and get better economy at the same time.
