  • Disappointing....

This is going in the performance section due to the lack there of....

Going to work yesterday in my '96 Z-34 Monte, and a 93 SC2 saturn pulls up along side at a light, he's gold with a black fender and primer on his front clip in various places, kid driver. Light went green and I decked it, the tires barked and I'm thinking saturn no problem, the kid next to me realized what was going on, didn't break his tires free, but I think i did hear a slight spooling sound, might have just been the motor. I put a fender on him when he hit 2nd and barked the hell out of his tires, he then proceeded to put a fender on me. I hit 2nd and lost another foot on him he hit 3rd, got rubber again and jumped to half car length, we held there till his gear change came up again, he hit 4th and got rubber AGAIN!, and pulled another few feet on me putting him about a 1/4 car legth in front, I got 3rd and lost some more footage. I came off the gas at 100 and watched him disappear.

I remember the 92 lumina Z-34 being faster than this... Or maybe I just dont remember what she was really like before the mods. Or, are these things really this pathetic?
sigpicHow to make High performance Emissions:
A "true" High flow converter, straight pipe.
Low/No flow EGR valve, block off plate.
Carbon canister and purge valve mod, place in large 30 Gallon can, cover, and place curbside, the city will do the rest.
PCV valve and vent tube, reroute to exhaust to dump where it belongs, on the ground. Or add breathers and let it all free.

I bought the Z as a work car till my Achieva is done. I'm currently wedging in a 4.0L aurora V-8 with a 282 behind her. Chrfab is helping with it. I have already pick up pistons from aries, assembled a rebuild kit, and I will soon order cams from them, port and polish work the heads through them, only cause they are familiar with the motor, and a ecu system from them programmed for that motor.

They aint a bad company to work with, so far, they haven't returned emails as fast as i would like but, maybe they busy.

Which brings me to getting the stock intake flow tested so I can look into proper cams for it. Which brings me to Ben for flow testing the intake. I'll have him do the heads to if he thinks he can tune them without having to go through more than 1 set :P

I need to redo the flowbench before I can do different heads.

Also remember Saturns are made of plastic so they're pretty light, which helps.
I may own a GTO now, but I'm still a 60V6er at heart.

Pathetic is the key word my bro.
sadly My 1991 Z34 5 speed prolly could not take my wifes 2003 Chevy Tracker V6

I have had the Lumina only 4 months and already think it is a POS.

When is the Z28 coming back?

You probably need to stop ragging on it and fix all whats broken and bring it back up to spec. That engine is no toy that comes in todays saturns, AND you have a 5 speed? Geesh it should be that much quicker. There's something wrong.

HELL no I dont want to buy that. lol I have my own PITA cars to work on!
Someone that does buy that car would probably just part it out (trans, some little pieces) so the value is not worth much.

                              LOL
so far we put a cat converter, plugs, wires, brake work, power steering hoses, alternator, tie rod, battery.

I think it might have to go to the Chevy dealership for some fine tuning.
