I have been working with this machine shop that has welded lots of intakes for me. I have given him some stuff as well to weld up for the turbo. ANyways he wasnt to make a custom direct port plenum for my car. I know that the stock plenum is pretty restrictive, this this would increase your power quite abit. So my question to you guys is, are you interested? It will probably be made out of all aluminum and then powdercoated. I dont know where I can find a throttle body but it would have to be like 70mm. If there is interest I will start desiging it and having him weld some stuff.

for right now it would have to fit my car. thats a 94. So it would be first for the 91-95. whats the difference between the length of the runners. I am going to make it so that it just replaces the plenum, as it would be way to much work to make a new lower manifold. Because the thermostat is connected to it. If anyone has suggestions let me know. I am making the basic layout this week.

for a turbo you would want a short runer IM. Boost is boost. so really doesnt matter what turbo you go with unless you are going for some crazy over the top Turbo... in that case you would already know waht you needed to run. and mostlikely you will be redoing the entire upper and lower IM and porting the heads aswell.

For a turbo, it depends on what kind of application and desires you have for the vehicle. If you want an all-out high end turbo car, sure, short runners would be great. However, if you wanted an engine that would be pleasant to drive off boost with an automatic or a heavy vehicle, you would want longer runners for low-end torque. Same as sizing a turbocharger. You are always best served to examine the engine (and transmission and vehicle for that matter) as a system when modifying it.87 Fiero GT

like you said ^ for off boost you want long runer... if doing boost want short runer.
considering the 96+ manifolds are availible with the longer runers, i think a short runer would be best to design for the more radical Boost app's for a low to moderate boost app, a custom IM with long runers isnt that good of an investment... cause gain for $ just isnt that good... could always up the boost for cheeper then trying to make longer runers to gain tq
