  • Dropping out motor

    Hi I started dropping the 3.4 out of my prix today and i have everything unhooked and i am just about ready to drop it out and i was wondering if there is anything i should know before i do this? i am gonna be rebuilding the motor and i have to replace the subframe so i dont care if it gets damaged. thanks

      what do i do about the ac compressor? do i unhook it and push it aside , or what is the fastest way of doing it?thanks

        i just left it bolted up to the block and i took the lines right off at the compressor

          yeah but dont u need to get the system drained then? i cant drive the car anywhere to get drained.

            haha i didn't drain mine, its just r134a, it only creates the greenhouse effect no worries

              I unbolted mine and let it sit in the bay. Could use some decent sized wire or a wire coat hanger to hold it up so it doesn't fall.

                  Yeah, when it hit the 3 year mark of me having the 91, the AC stopped working, so I took it in to have it charged because it was really hot that summer. They wanted to do a leak test on it to find where the leak was and wouldn't fill it without testing it. I didn't bother because I figured if it took 3 at least to leak out, it would be so small of a leak that they wouldn't fill it, and I didn't want to waste money on a leak they were not going to find. Stupid bastards. It still had a good charge in there, just not enough to turn the compressor on. That's why I left mine in the bay without disconnecting it. I didn't want to lose what was in there.
