yeah my FFP dogbone does show some wear of the poly material on one of the bushings, but im happy with it. mazingly i have found that i can get the same stiffness from a piece of Aluminum bar about 1/8" thick with two holes drilled. the al had enough movement/flex to not keep the motor 100% rigid but keep it stable. the feel was exactly like the FFP dogbone i have. if i used two of the plates, it was pretty much rock solid. and for the price it was very cheep. can get a piece of that aluminum at homedepot for like $10 and just then need to drill two holes and install. i keep them on stand by for when i go to the track.

If Michael ever does make parts again, he needs to get he head screwed on and make them right. The poly dogbones, at least for the 3.4s, he made with a two piece bushing. Mine falls apart every time I take it off the car. What's more he made the sleeves that the bolts go through out of aluminum which gets chewed up by the threads and develops slop, which you're trying to avoid by getting it in the first place.
I also have his UD pulley (no complaints) and his rear coil over struts. He shipped mine without the top seats (he did send them to me when I told him they were missing), and the design is flawed. There is nothing to keep the spring seated in the top of the assembly. So if you have the stock sway bar anytime you corner hard or turn up a sloped driveway, the springs come out of the seats and either bang back in as the come down or get caught on the lip of the seat. I told him about this, he said it's not a design flaw. I'm sure it is, because I experienced it.Last edited by OldSkoolGP; 08-27-2007, 11:16 AM.I may own a GTO now, but I'm still a 60V6er at heart.

i just used my stock mounts and had zero problems. you need to put a helper spring on top of the regular spring if you dont want it to come off the mount. theres nothing you can do other than that to keep the spring in place. what did you expect to happen when you bought them? its pretty obvious that both ends of the spring wouldnt be in contact all of the time. the tdc and held mounts will have the same problem.
but enough bashing someone that wont be able to defend themselves.91 GTP HM-284 GONE

Nothing personal, but I'll bash him all I want. If helper spinrgs could keep the main springs in place, he should have included them. If he knew the springs would jump out, he could have mentioned it as a caveat before he sold them to you. If you use an Addco rear sway bar it stiffens up the rear so much the springs can't jump out anymore, so that another solution and it's the one I'm using.
On that of that I have heard from cetain others that Michael is not as accomodating a person or nice as some of you may be led to believe. I will leave it at that though because i'm not interested in starting anything that doesn't need to be started.I may own a GTO now, but I'm still a 60V6er at heart.

only real problems i had with him was he seemed to be lazy or a liar or something. i bought a dogbone from him, it arrived as advertised.
i asked him about doing some custom stuff several times, he says he does custom stuff no problem. when talks got serious, he always backed out.
at least he didn't take any of my money but why say you can make stuff when you can not or will not?The Official Rotating Mass Nazi

he wouldnt sell me the mounts separately, but im glad i just used the stockers. he was fine both times i bought stuff from him.
they were already expensive enough without the helper springs, lol.
he just got out of it from some reason...probably lack of interest on the part of himself and buyers.
i have the addco bar, but the spring still comes off the mount at full travel. im not worried, though. just to clarify, i didnt buy his coilover kit. i got a held kit for a 1.5 cheap and just used the spring, nut, and sleeve from them along with my stock mounts (on my 96)
i actually just ordered a set of sleeves and nuts that should be here tomorrow and will be ordering 175-350 springs soon, hopefully. ill see how it works out on this car and ill have to get a set of helper springs and couplers if it needs them, but i dont anticipate that as the same setup worked in my other car just fine.91 GTP HM-284 GONE
