  • Turbo Help asap

Ok guys I am trying to get my 3.4 dohc turbo started but am haing ssome problems. I crank it over and get no oil pressure out of my gauge, but I have oil coming out of the turbo. So that leads me to my first question. I dont hvae a wire going from the aux post to the started, just have the starter directly hooled up to the battery. Is this a problem? And would this cause the headlights to not work? next question. I have fuel pressure and when I tryed to start it , it just turns over. It sounds like its about to starte but doesn't. Anything I should check for. I mean it should run, I dont know how good but it shouild. Hte motor is rebuilt and the coils are msd brand new, magnacore wires brand new. What should I do?

If your headlights are not working chances are you have no power to the gauges either. Do you have any hot wires other than the positive cable connected to the starter terminal with the battery cable?

Yep, I have not power to the lights on the gauges. But on the a/f gauge I have a reading and the oil I have nothing. I ran the same power wires and ground to both.

If you talking about the post thats on the fuse box then yes you have to have a cable going to it or it will not start.

depending on the year that post powers anything from interior stuff to fuel pump. the W body harnesses changed several times through the gen1 run.

hook everything back up to stock. double check all wiring and also double check the oil feed line to the turbo and also your oil pressure sensor. if everything looks correct there. again double check your wires to the post. hook everything back up no short cuts. if it ran fine before the turbo install it should run and idle fine after.
