  • alternative to header wrap?

is there any cheap alternative to header wrap out there? i hear by wrapping my headers it puts all the heat to the heads and i am sure they will facilitate rust too(the wrap).

i have wrapped my headers for safety not performance b/c it looks like it would be easy for a fire to start on those badboys if a leaf or something fell on them.

hi, you can get cheap header wrap on ebay
i was looking at some for a honda crf100, pitbike ect..

thing with header wrap .vs safety is if you get oil on them, there will be a fire
the wrap wont burn away but the oil will deffinatly catch fire
a leaf on a header tube will prolly just singe but the oil on wrap will burn :P

they sell the metal tie straps on ebay too, but if you got some clamps already they work too jsut not as proffesional looking

Yep I just did my turbo piping. I see on some though you dont have to use the tie straps. they are expensive if you buy them at advance but cheap online. Its not an easy thing to do

Ceramic Coating or Jet Hot Coating. that is about the only alternative you have to using a wrap that i know of. its not cheap but it works great.
