  • SUPERCHARGER!

Hi there, i havent been on this fourm in a long time! well my GTP got totalled but its getting fixed ( I work at a gm dealership so its not gonna cost much!) but while its getting fixed i am rebuilding the engine and on friday i bought a brand new Eaton M90 supercharger for it. i was wondering what would i have to do to the chip or fuel or whatever to make it run without damaging my engine or screwing up emmisions? i would appreciate any help thanks!

That is an M90 from a Ford T-Bird SC, looks used to me. What year, and how many miles?

I am working on usng the same SC on my 3400 project. I am using a Haltech stand-alone ECM, so electronics problems are solved.

There are guys running the slightly smaller M62 Eaton kit sold by Magnusson (no longer available) on 3400's with the stock ECM. It isn't ideal, but it runs. You really need a tuned ECM to get the most out of it, and to get the timing curve right to avoid knock.

Where are you planning to mount that thing?

Yes, that is from a Thunderbird SC It is from a 1993 and it has 0 miles on it. it was donated to my shop from the windsor ford motor plant. the reason it looks used it because it has been thrown around the shop for 6 years. i am gonna mount it where the air filer box goes and route the drive shaft behind the motor. where do i get the computer that i need?

Ok wtf do you mean run the shaft behind the motor? The box sits to the front driver's side of the motor, so if you were going to mount it like that, the shaft would run in front...

And how do you plan on getting the shaft over there? I mean it's only an engine mount.....Doesn't matter......Not at all......

And how is your 3.4 making 265hp? Proof? ?

ok wtf i mean is that im gonna run the shaft behind the motor, dont worry how im gonna do it i just will. and i didnt post here to get critisized i just asked a question. im gonna place the supercharger with the shaft over the back of the tranny, i am gonna have to modify it and make custom brackets but i have the equipment to do it and the skill. all i want to know is what do i need to do to my computer to make the engine run good. and dont worry about how my car has 265 hp, i didnt come on this site and start talking shit about your headers and the shitty welds done on them.

Don't mind Aaron. I don't think there is a handfull of people on here that he hasn't critisized for one thing or another. Besides, he still hasn't posted his 214whp dyno sheet.

i had that same blower, and i gave up right quick because it was gonna be one huge headache.

i figured you could do it one of two ways, one would be build an intake and it woud stick 4" out the hood, the other was make a shaft drive system for it to come off the front kinda maybe where the a/c compressor is and use the same size pulleys as the blower on both ends and use a tiny serpentine belt like the one a quad-4 uses to drive the p/s pump off the back of the cam.

Or make a shaft extension like the 3100 SC kit has would be another way.

yeah i want to make a shaft extension for it but im gonna do it from the back not the front, so it will run off the alternator. i will try to place it in my engine bay the way i want it set up and i will take some pics of it.

Just remember that you need the belt to wrap around the pulley on the SC a certain amount so the belt doesn't slip.

well im actually gonna take the pulley off the the supercharger and hook it up to a gear box so idont have to worry about 2 belts.

Hey, what do you already have to make 265HP? We are all wondering. Also, how come a ford S/C and not a GM S/C. I'm interested in this as well, but I always thought a GM 3800 series 2 S/C would be a good choice.

Don't worry aaron, he has no proof of his assumed power in his sig. We went over it before on here and he disappeared. Ill believe this SC fits back there, or wherever with that shaft when I see it. Good luck, you are gonna need it.
