i installed my 60* chip today and when i started the car it had a bad miss ss light and high idle. tried to do an idle relearn and it stalled. re started the car and had an even higher idle (about 2k) but ran ok, until it droped back down to 1300ish and eventually stalled. i believe i did everything correctly, installed the stock chip onto the adapter with the chips on the same side, put the whole setup back in with the stock chip towards the interior of the comp. any ideas? im going to take it back apart and verify all that but in fairly sure i did it correctly.

It sounds like it doesn't like the chip if its installed right. If you check it over and it fails still, send it back to me.

well i checked it over and im positive i didnt do anything wrong. everything was together nicley and no pins were bent. i took it out and the car runs fine (well like it usually does). im curious to know what you mean by didnt like it? and what can you do to make it work or can you do anything? thanks.

Ill have to check my solder job, and see what the code looks like in the chip. I check them to make sure its in the right location on the chip but perhaps there was a problem. If the checksum doesn't match the code, a fan will kick on, the ses will run, and your idle will be messed. Same with a short, or no chip plugged into the adapter.

Make sure you disconnect the battery or pull the fuse.

ok ill send it back, i dont know if the fan would have kicked on because iv run mine to a switch but when i tried to check the ses light the diag wouldnt work, the light would just stay on. and i did disconnect the battery during installation and removal.
