I ran #4's in my 1992 Z-34. But I was running 116 octane, 150 shot of dope, no emissions, and full port and polishing with a ice box on the fuel lines and (naturally aspirated) ice box (spearco) to chill the air in tropical heat race track conditions. worked great. Also match that with mallory wires, you'll have to make them yourself from a universal kit. When I did that I was apart of a fairly large race team, and we had bought 1 set of every spark plug wire in the summit catalog, the mallory's ohm'd out the best.

sigpicHow to make High performance Emissions:
A "true" High flow converter, straight pipe.
Low/No flow EGR valve, block off plate.
Carbon canister and purge valve mod, place in large 30 Gallon can, cover, and place curbside, the city will do the rest.
PCV valve and vent tube, reroute to exhaust to dump where it belongs, on the ground. Or add breathers and let it all free.

Got the plugs. Took a look at them and they dont look like rapid fires at all. I have an older set from my 3.1 and they have divits all around the anode and these new ones are just a fine point and look like platinums.
I mentioned it to the sales guy and he said that rapid fires changed up. I said that how can it be a rapid fire with out the divits cause my understanding is that is what made it a rapid fire plug.
I bought them anyway. #10 and if anyone ever wants the GM Part number let me know cause it took 4 days of talking back and forth to just find the right plugs.
What is everyone setting these to? Stock is .060 but I am thinking maybe .045. Opinions/suggestions.
ThanksI dont know what this means but "ASS HATS" is funny

they redesigned the rapid fires. they have a different platinum electrode now...lame. 8s are about 1 step colder than 12s, i think.91 GTP HM-284 GONE

Fine tip ussually means iridium. And they should be pregapped, with that real fine tip you will crush it very easily, leave it be. If you were NOS'd, blown, turbo'ed, and dragging for consistancey, in the neighbor hood of being worried about .005 +/- sec) then I would say to adjust their gap. Otherwise, street app, don't touch it.sigpicHow to make High performance Emissions:

OK, I stand corrected.
