governor bypass/custom chip 94

do you guys know of any1 that can make custom chips for the 94 3.4 dohc engine. most don't offer that year and the ones that do can't make custom chips.

OR is there any way to disable that top speed governor? that is really all i need. i can't deviate from stock timing(that's why i need a custom unit), i just want to get rid of that annoying governor.

i will experiment on my own car with a pair of jumper wires, just where is the vss?

I have sent dohcfiend a chip to test out. Nothing performance wise but it does change the fan turn on times and the limiters. 300 is retarded for something without proven performance gains, and if you just want the limiters gone I can do that for a fair price since its simple. Ill wait and see if it worked first though before I offer to change limiters for the 94/95 DOHC owners.

yea, it would not be wise on my behalf to deviate from stock timing with n20. and 300 would be insane to just eliminate a speed governor! i would play with the wiring from the speed sensor first. hell if had to i would install a toggle to disconnect the sensor, of course the speedo wouldn't work but i wouldn't care at 120+. BUT, those msd coils did look nice on that site but sheesh 146!!!. maybe next time my coil packs go out(and they will being next to the damn manifold;real smart GM)

that would be a fine idea(maybe) relocate the coil packs!!!
maybe one day i will try to relocate them.

btw: what are the limits of the stock coils?

The MSD products on that web site are overpriced, I could find you a better deal up here in E-town. That would probably include shipping. For example, coil interface's, a set of 3 for $96.00USD. I paid $93.00 CDN for 3 here. It was also from a company who is well known for ripping people off. I've learned of a better pro shop here now, though. I might get the MSD coil packs, but I just bought 3 new GM ones last year, so I'm in no hurry.

Maybe I can help here. I am an electrical engineer and I have a great deal of experience programming (and reverse engineering) microcontroller based systems. Does anyone have a printout of the assembly code for the ECM? What processor does the ECM use?

Motorolla 68HC11. There is a remote boot of sorts hard coded so that the entire program and data resides on the EEPROM (MEMCAL) and it I think it assigns the ranges for data/RAM/IO ports, etc. All of the I/O are slaved via some serial protocol, maybe SPI, on external chips.

sd_iconoclast, so how much do you know? I was planning on modifying the $8F mask to do some neat stuff, but decided to work on the $2E instead.
