for safety's sake, make sure that when you test the speed limiter, you have good tires...

Actually it has been off for over a year on the 91, I'm pretty sure, and probably close to a year on the 92, and both work fine

Hey Sappy, any more news on chip progress? If you get it to work, I would but one from you. I wouldn't mind a litle performance gain from the chip, but if it takes out the speed limiter, I am happy. Like you said why pay that kind of money for something that's not proven when I can bypass the limiter with your chip and spend that money on proven enhancements

is there any updates on the progression of hacking the 94-95 chips? I need vats turned off so my motor swap will run. Do 94-95 motors have passkey 1 or passkey 2?

Probably passkey 1, which IIRC would be a simple resistor pill in the key which the VATS module measures on startup. If it matches the one it is supposed to be, the ignition turns on, if not, no go.

Too bad GM only uses like 8 different ones so others can start your car up. Was tried at one of the gatherings and people were starting others GM cars with other GM keys!

Over $12K invested, and still its slow. Maybe thats because thats most all repairs. Don\'t knock the engine though, because thats the only part that has seemed to last.

If there is someone in Kansas City with a 94-95 I could mess with it. Still gotta find a spare 91-93 ECM before I swap back to 94-95 wiring.

hey for those 96+ injectors, is that $40 for each one or $40 for all 6?

Thanks for your work on this! I would be interested in this for EGR delete, rev limiters raised slightly, speed limiter removed, and the fans turned on sooner if possible.

I never got the car to do testing, so whenver that happens im sure we can take care of those things. I am using adapters now so that will take care of some of the issues with the memcals.

If you need someone to test out these chips for you, I definitely can. I'll have my car back in about a month. I don't need it as a daily driver. It isn't stock so fuel and ignition tables probably wouldn't be good things to test on it, but I would be game for anything else. It is currently running the BKLL code and is mechanically in great shape.

I am not new to aftermarket ECU tuning(having installed and tuned a TEC 3 and an AEM), but have never experimented with OEM. Having seen all of this information lately, I have been considering taking a shot at it myself. Right now, I'm reserching OBD1 scantools/dataloggers and wideband O2 sensors. Thanks again for your work on this platform!
