  • 3.4DOHC Stock Boosted?

I am wondering if there is anyone running Boost on a Stock 3.4DOHC?

I just picked up a GTP with the LQ9 and I already have the Turbo gear that could go on it.
I dont know what this means but "ASS HATS" is funny

TimG, Brianteal (i think) and a couple others (fieros and w-bodies) as well as myself are running Turbo LQ1's (3.4L DOHC).

One of the fiero guys is making ~399hp, TimG is making on 10psi 325hp and 350TQ. He is also upgrading the turbo and doing a OBDII Swap and tuning. I made on 5psi and FMU 270hp 250tq and now have C100 swap and will be tuning on the 20th and will have new numbers.

I thought my 96 is OBDII. And what is this C100?

I currently have a GarrettT4 w/external 38mm Wastegate, Greddy RS BOV, and vortec 12:1 FMU, Greddy Turbo Timer. Nothing used all NIB.

yes 96+ is OBD2. with OBD2 you can use a DHP powertuner to help tune. i know i have seen amazing results with my NA 3.4 just with tuning, adj spark timing, the Tq management and shift points.

C100 is the firewall connector. it implies a change of the engine harness (plus some interior). you change the c1 and c2 (pcm connectors) to use an obd2 pcm.

          and +1 for powrtuner

I was told that the 1996 was C100 (GM's first try at OBDII) and 1997 was True OBDII. Maybe i missunderstood....

im not sure. i think C100 is just the term for the connector. C1 is the blue? pcm connector and C2 is the clear? pcm connector. afaik, all cars had to be obd2 in 1996, so its true obd2. i think the 97 pcms just have more memory. they changed yet again in 98.

96 is true OBD2 but like said the Bin file in the pcm is only 256 kb the 97+ pcms are 512 kb most of the additional info is in the trany settings. and there are some in the PE vs time table aswell.

Yeah, C100 is just the main firewall connector.

I think 96 may be easier and more predictable to tune. I'm hoping to find out soon. If it's not, I may sell off everything to somebody not as modded and look to standalones.
