  • ported LIM question.

    on the stores website it says theres a good loss of power below 5k, im wondering how much are we talking? im kinda on the fence about getting this done. anybody have any experience with it? thanks.

      Yeah, sorry for the confusion. If you open up the lower intake too much, it hurts power below 5000 RPM (noticable). I was trying to state that I don't do this, so there is more usable power compared to trying for all 5000+ power.

          hey sappy! i ported my lower intake and didnt see any drop in power... i actually saw a slight increase. now, i didnt touch the runers at all... just the lower outlets where they meet the heads. i port matched there and reshaped the opening for the injectors.

          it was a lot of work for not much gain. but for me it was a free mod cause i had the tools. from looking at the ports i could see where they werent lined up cause of the carbon build up.

            Perhaps the issue was total volume removed. I prefer more taper from top to bottom, and opening up the bottom that much means you should take that much from the rest of it. I haven't done any flow testing yet to see what flow differences there are between how the manifolds are done.
