  • what are anti pump lifters

i seen a little something about them. how are they different vs stock lq1 lifters and what performance gain could be had from them?

here is some of the things done to them on the ad: "We use a new custom made plunge surpressor to engage the plunger with more resistance. The overall effect is compared to having a mechanical valvetrain, while the benefits of tolerance and take-up of a hydraulic valvetrain. These lifters are an excellent choice (if not a must) for those installing a new camshafts."

They don't have as much hydraulic motion in the lifter. You get more lift/duration from it because instead of .050 travel (example), you would have .02 maybe. That is .030 more lift plus you are lifing the valve sooner.

they will only work for 97 cams. they are the 33mm versions. by a little research i was able to dig these up. they are expensive too.

1st you go to gmpartsdirect and look up the 97 lq1 lifters and it shows you the interchange. the 2.4 dohc as well as the n* run the exact same lifter. armed with that knowlege i can widen my search. while the N* aftermarket is weak like the lq1, the 2.4 had a little more following.

then i just browsed around some 2.4 sites until i found these at jbp. shitty part is i will need 24 instead of 16 .

or 0 of them if the interference is a problem.

another thing or 2 i am trying to find out are the valvetrain specs of the 2.4l dohc.

You need to check the height of the hydraulic button to the top of the lifter. I had lots of fun researching the 35mm lifters:P

No, its not going to cause any issues with interference.
