Head Resufacing for more compression??

    I thought that the 91-95 Pistons increased the compression, NOT the 96-97

      Good point. The lifters were probably not pumped up, I bet thats worth a good .010.

          well, im going to try .010 on mine and 6/13, so ill lyk. hopefully, ill have it done next weekend. i'm just going to take my time

            will you have it running by next weekend? if u have good results that would be great, i still have the motor ripped apart so i will hold off reasembling it if you will be done next weekend for sure.

              i'm actually hoping to have it done by this weekend, but i have a busy schedule so i dont know if it'll happen, but i def plan to finish it by next weekend. if i can, i will take friday off and finish it. everything's ready except i still havent gotten the 92 cams in the 96 carriers yet and i just sent the heads out today so i have to wait for them to get done. i'm really anxious to get it done.

                just found out through the machine shop that one of my heads was cracked. guess im going to just get one from alabama cylinder head. hope its at least planed a little since my other one is going to be 10/1000. already did a pocket port on both, so now im going to have to do another one. son of a bitch. dont know how long this is going to set me back now.

                    thanks, but im getting one that already has been redone for 175 shipped. i think it was like 125 each to have them milled and get a valve job anyway. hopefully, one day, i can actually get the heads done really good, but im trying to get it back together for as little as possible. i just have to port this one since i already did both of them.


                    also, i wont be getting this head till wed and i have to re-port it like i said, so it might not get back together next weekend, but im still hoping to.

                      got it back together. im not sure what they were milled to. im assuming the rear one (reman) was just shaved but not to 10 and carquest was supposed to do .010, but im not exactly sure.
