  • 96 GTP Advanced Timing

This summer I am doing the 96 top end swap and doing some work to the valve train. Should I do the advanced timing? I know it isn't 6/6 cam timing for the 96 and 97's. Anyone happen to remember what it was?

    Any help would be great!

oh thought you were talking about spark timing advance.... if you happen to have a power tuner i have a new spark map that give a nice boost in mid range power

I am at OBD 1.5 so no power tuning to my car. Unless I do a OBDII swap, but I dunno if I am up for that yet.

It would be easier than doing an int. harness swap for the GTU. haha If you want we still can take out your dash for kicks.

No we are not taking out my dash for kicks..haha..If I do OBDII swap then the internal harness would need to be swapped out too. So I would have to do the inside too.

I think you can get away with just swapping a few plugs, very minor than going and replacing the whole Int. harness.
