I have recently had a lot of ideas now that I have a job.
These are the ideas that I am thinking of/acting upon.
Headers-Almost done
Head port/polish-Starting in a month
I also am going to purchase 24 SI valves and springs, and install them on the 95 heads that are getting ported.
Cams. I WILL find a place that will do a set of cams for my motor. I do not know yet whether I am going to use my current cams or the 95 ones I have. They SHOULD be the same.
I want cams mainly for performance straight to redline, becuz with the rebuild I lost power at 6500+ rpm. I don;t care about low end, that doesn't matter to me.
I know this sounds crazy, but is it possible? Sappsye107(sp) please comment on this as your input would be greatly appreciated.
About the plenum. I am thinking of taking a chop saw to the plenum. This is what I'm thinking. There are a lot of aftermarket intakes for small block chevy's which have individual throttle plates for each cylinder. This is also the setup on the 610hp V10 Shelby Cobra. The cobra makes 501 ft/lbs(low compared to hp) at 5,000rpm! that is high, very high. The max hp is made 1000 rpm after max tq. I believe this is in part to the intake. Now our current intake has a setup which the air goes in throuhg the throttle body, then getis into its port, then curves back towards the rear bank, circles up and heads towards the front then down. What if I cut it right after it circles? This way the air will enter right on top of the rear cam carrier. Then figure out a way to have an individual plate for each rectangular port and use the factory cables and attach a filter right on top.
