computer chip help

o.k. just got back in the home and receive a chip from ben ,and like little kid went out try to put it in .but, i have a question before i screw something off.

i figure that the chip goes were i pull the part from left hand of the pic.but ,that also connect to the new part ,or i'm wrong .if it does how it goes which end . hope you understand my question .and hope to have it giong tonite,or after i take my boy to see rocky.man ,just got home and got a full schuddle.
