That is not a 97, the 96 and up i think had the long oval ports, not the circular ones like shown.

I know I can count on Sappy and his research, but the guy that listed the engine was hard set and began arguing with me over e-mails.

I simply provided the information and then bammm after I provided the link, he read it then it was like

That is a 94-95 engine, because the cam cover it notched for the SFI sensor. Any idea what his reserve is?

They were selling on ebay months ago for 750-850, so I wish him luck at over 1000.

They will bolt up just fine, but wont use the SFI sensors.

Sappy is right. I happen to have a crate engine identical to the one shown (I think). I got mine from a friend who had it in his shop for years so we do not know definitevely what year it is. It appears to me that these crate engines are made to fit all years 91-95. Mine has the notch for the cam sensor but it has the same balancer as my '91 and '92 engines. It definitely has the same heads as the '91 to 95s. Also, the casting numbers on the cams do not match any of my other engines ('91, '92, and '95)
