  • FFP underdrive Pulley

    I want to finally put on my FFP underdrive pulley. For anyone who has removed the pulley can you let me know if the Crankshaft Pulley bolt is reverse threaded?? I tried to take it off earlier in the year and the bolt wouldn't budge. I tried an impact wrench and a breaker bar and only ended up with sore shoulder muscles. And this was after using a large amount of liquid wrench. I have a 91 LQ1...

    shouldnt be
    impact wont really do much because everythign moves

    you need to block the flywheel or w/e and get a long ass breaker bar on that

    if it doesnt budge you can heat up the end of the nut and try
    dont make it red though or youll twist it off :P

      yep, cram something in the flywheel and put a breaker bar on the bolt... the nut on my 3400 was a pain in the ass at first too...

        I use vise grips on the flywheel. Iv had to take them bolts out so many times for the puley system I use.

        96 Z34 3.4 SC DOHC Getrag, 284 5sd manual transmission, stage 3spec clutch, 97 engine, 97 pcm, S3 intercooler 1 of 1 Roots SC LQ1 in the world 8.5 psi.

          use a good impact gun, and no its not reverse thread, i have a 1000ft./lbs torque Mac impact gun and that sure does the trick, just use an impact socket when you do or you will round the bolt head
