Hissing sound from brake booster

Today my car developed and hissing sound of air when i apply brake. I have to press very hard on the brakes to get the car to stop. When im on the brakes at a stop light I hear the hissing sound and when I let off the brakes the idle stumbles and sometimes die. If I press on the brakes again while the car is stumbling it will raise the idle up. I inspeacted the hoses and all looked fine and i put clamps on the ends with no difference. Any clues?

Sounds like your power brake booster is shot. Plug the vacuum hose going to the booster. If your idle is ok, then the booster is bad.
