  • lq1 running rough

recently i had a problem with it stalling when i come to a stop and push the clutch in. fixed that, combination of bad ground and faulty plugs. fast foward about 1-2 weeks after.

recently it rained alot and there was alot of standing water on the road. started running rough on the way back from work.

the system is a 91-93 5 spd ecm

it hesitates on and off during acceleration. idles fine btw. as usual no codes from the ecm(not surprised there).

the plugs i pulled off were dry but showed a white haze on the metal thingy that hangs over the electrode on all 6 of them. when i bought the application specific a/c delco plugs, i noticed them to be 1 step colder. judging from the heatrange difference, id say it was running hot be4(that's a gimme)

i have the luxury of spare parts that i have tested and know to be good. i replaced the icm, the coilpacks, the cps, the knock sensor(it was actually showing definitive wear), wires appear to be in excellent shape and conduct spark well, all 6 injectors showed no signs of leakage and fired a nice, even pattern.

i have also replaced the egr and the tps but have not reassembled the intake and tested them yet. no unusual emissions or smells from the exhaust and as soon as the engine cools all the way i will pull the plugs in there.

no noticable smoke on startup or idle etc..

the only piece i do not have in stock is the FPR and i didn't bother with the IAC b/c it idles fine.

pulled 2 of the plugs. they appear to have an orang-ish tint to them. normal, right?

any advice would be appreciated. thanx.
