The book I have is the Hayes manual, you would think between it and the walk throughs on this site I would be good to go. But I'm still totally confused and overwhelmed. Its the whole visual learner things, thats how I learned to do this kind of work on a pushrod engine. And if I could afford what the shops want to charge to do my engine I would just scrap the engine and get myself an L67.
I tried getting the plenum off this morning but I can't even get at the 10mm bolt holding the clamp under the inlet. Because of the shape of the clamp I can't get a wrench on it and because of the location of the hoses under it I can't get a socket on it.

One thing is for sure...if I EVER have to do this job again...I'm engine shopping

      Don't worry Jamie!

It is very hard knowing all the details and standard procedures for example on doing a set of heads. when I say that I mean all the details that would make it a top quality, professional job.

Unless you do it all the time for years and its second nature what to check, what to change, and so on, IT DOES take alot of gathering information, making sure you have all the needed tools and so on, for anyone who is unfamilar with all of this. ESPECIALLY on ANY DOHC or SOHC engines.
