Over the past few months I've had some times where the car is running at higher RPMs than normal. For example, when I'm driving and come to a stop it's idling around 1500 RPM instead of the usual 800 RPM. I can feel it really pulling too. When I take my foot off the brake it jumps like it's already getting more throttle, which it is in actuality I guess. Also, when I put it in park or neutral, it immediately jumps up to 2000 RPM. Normally, when I turn it off and start it up again the issue goes away but it may take a couple times sometimes and others I have to actually erase the codes. It is giving a TPS/pedal position sensor error. My question is is it really the TPS or something else? Any suggestions are appreciated.
