The Lobster has a problem. Aside from passing emissions and all their is somthing that the car is doing. When I get on it at tach aporaching about about 4000 RPM the engine cuts out quickly and then keeps accellerating. Doesn't do this all the time. The car runs fine otherwise. I was wondering if my memcal was an old model, needs to be replaced? Any suggestions?

What about the o2 sensor? Does it do this under heavy throttle or just normal throttle? My 92 Z with the 3.4 did close to the same thing and it was the o2 sensor. Hope this helps.

Code is BCFA 1618 1397. Fuel pressure engine off pump on 46 psi, pump off 42 psi and holding, engine on 38 psi. Fuel system seems rather healthy. I guess I should plug in the lappy...Lorenzo

ignition timing control? my 2.8 had problems revving over 4k and even getting off the line before i decided to park it and turn it into a project, im pretty certain that it was a bad icm, since i replaced it over and over again from AZ. maybe you can swap the one on from your White Whale if you still have it, maybe everything will be fine, worth the 10 mins it might take i'd think.If you aren't friends with a liar, you aren't friends with anyone.

Well with this engine there is alittle more in the way....Might take me a hour or so to get it out....I may try swapping ECMs see if that helps... Find it odd how it runs very well then it does that and it'll run fine to 6000. I have a spare DIS and coils. I already had to pull the EGR valve off the whale, that's about all I want to pull off of it. I already know all the parts work on that engine and I'd like to keep it as such if you know what I mean..As far as idle is concerned BLM is 128, INTEGRATOR is 132Lorenzo

Swapped out the DIS and coils. Got new Delco wres as well. Car seems to start up a little faster. No more cut outs at high engine speeds. A little more power too. Mostly at the point it was messing up at, 4000-5000. That module is a pita to remove.Lorenzo
